Private Residence - Hiking in Connecticut

Special thanks to FFOF's member Hao Zhang 张浩(‘96), who generously offered to host our second get-together of the series. The event will take place on Nov. 6, Saturday at his house in Connecticut, 50 mins away from the city. Transportation will be provided. We will gather at 10:30 AM in Manhattan and a driver will pick us up to take us to Hao’s residence. (More detailed information on gathering time and location to be followed up, private transportation also welcome.)

The event will include an in-house get together, a hiking trip and a dinner party, featuring a Shanghainese chef. Two hiking trail options are being offered (see details belows) and we will pick one based on poll result.


The entry fee will be $30 per person. Student $20. Family bundle $60 (up to 2 adults and 2 children). Guests are welcome. Any additional donation is welcome, all of which will be donated to the Foundation.

Hao studied at Fudan Fuzhong 93-96. Before that, he enjoyed much lighter course load in a local junior high school. After the training in Fuzhong, he cruised onto Fudan, Caltech (BSc ‘00), and Berkeley (PhD ‘07). For the past 15 years or so, Hao can be seen on the Eastern Seaboard, commuting between CT and NYC, or more recently, working from home in the residential suburb of Greenwich CT. In his spare time, Hao hangs out with his two children and more recently, also his pandemic pet Aster the Cat. 

Hiking Trail Options

Audubon Center Trail

Greenwich Audubon Center Trail is a 2.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and cross country skiing.

Tod’s Point Trail

Tod's Point is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.
